Made in Veendam
Born and raised in the down-to-earth town of Veendam, I studied International Business and Languages at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. During my studies, I spent almost a year in Spain, in vibrant Seville and bustling Madrid. That time sparked my curiosity about other cultures, languages, and business approaches.
The corporate years
After graduating, I began my career at two major companies: beverage giant Diageo in Amsterdam and agribusiness Syngenta Seeds in Enkhuizen. Those years taught me how large organizations think, plan, and grow. But also that I prefer to be at the helm myself rather than be part of a structure that dictates my speed.
From employee to entrepreneur
After years in the corporate world, life brought me back to the village where it all began in 2014. This time, not as an employee, but as an entrepreneur with a healthy dose of ambition. What began as a regional business under the name VanMaaren Auto's grew into an international company.
The step to Ibiza
The Dutch branch is currently winding down, as our full focus shifts to Ibiza. There, we proudly run two companies: VanMaaren Kings & Queens SL, our real estate company, and Sa Penya Rentals SL, our rental organization. In 2025, we'll reach a significant milestone with approximately thirty properties under management. From villas and city apartments to characteristic houses in the old harbor: we renovate, make sustainable, and rent out, primarily to residents and seasonal residents.

Every day brings new people, new stories, and sometimes literally new paths that cross our paths. It's instructive, challenging, and above all, rewarding work. Standing out in a competitive market isn't easy, but it's precisely that challenge that drives me. Whether it's for clients, partners, or residents, I strive to deliver quality in every aspect. This requires focus, courage, and the ability to see opportunities where others don't.
Balance between ambition and home
And yes, I combine all of that with motherhood. Being the mother of five beautiful children isn't always easy, but it makes me sharper, more creative, and, frankly, much more efficient. My ambition to continue growing and improving is greater than ever. With that energy, I, along with my wonderful partner and a dedicated team, run our businesses every single day.

Driven by vision
Ever since I can remember, my mind has been racing. Not out of anxiety, but out of vision. Seeing opportunities, recognizing value, creating something from nothing is as natural to me as breathing. Second nature.
Commercial spirit in the blood
Making money with money is in my blood. That entrepreneurial spirit has always been there, and according to those around me, it's one of my greatest talents. I naturally think abstractly and spatially, something that also emerged from personality analyses. But more importantly: I see what others miss. Not because I'm better, but because I simply see things differently.
The power of precision
I'm a perfectionist in everything I do. And while that's a strength, I also know it can sometimes be my downfall. What's "fine" for most people is simply not good enough for me. Details matter. Finish counts. For me, the difference between mediocre and exceptional often lies in the smallest details, and I never let those slide.
Goals become reality
I walk my path as an entrepreneur with discipline, perseverance, and a strong sense of justice. I know what I want, and I persevere until I achieve it. Not because I have to, but because I can't do anything else. Everything I've ever said or intended has become reality. Not by chance, but through conscious choices, focus, and vision.
Building meaning
Together with my partner, I'm building our platform on Ibiza. With VanMaaren Kings & Queens SL, we focus on properties with character, vision, and returns. And with Sa Penya Rentals SL, we offer long-term and stylish housing solutions to residents looking for a true home on the island.
We're literally and figuratively building an environment where not only we, but others too, can thrive. My dream is to further expand the VanMaaren platform into something unique. A foundation that everyone who contributes can build on. Because true wealth isn't what you keep for yourself, but what you can share.
Mastery in a different form
And one day, when the time is right, I want to give my creativity a new form. No longer as an entrepreneur, but as an artist. Because while some talents may remain quietly in the background for a while, they are still part of the world.
